The cities of Tallinn and Valencia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership focused on urban innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer. This marks Tallinn’s second initiative of this kind, following the agreement signed with Heidelberg earlier this May.

On Tuesday, May 20, the grand finale of a business idea competition for Ukrainian women living in Estonia took place at the Jaan Poska House. Now in its third year, the initiative aims to support Ukrainian women’s entrepreneurship and increase their visibility and economic activity in Estonia.

The Tallinn City Government has approved a regulation banning the use of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) advertising materials in public space. The Tallinn City Enterprise Service and the Department of Science Cooperation at the City of Heidelberg have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to initiate cooperation between the two cities in the fields of business development and innovation. The aim of the partnership is to foster the exchange of knowledge related to sustainable urban development, with a particular focus on technology-based solutions and digitalisation.

The goal of Tallinn’s Old Town development plan is to create a high-quality living environment where cultural heritage is preserved, and entrepreneurship supports an active cultural life. To achieve these goals, the development plan also outlines the most important activities for the coming years. A public presentation of the development plan will take place this Thursday, January 30.

On January 24, Tallinn Mayor Jevgeni Ossinovski participated in the 14th EU Capitals Mayors and European Commission Summit in Warsaw. The meeting focused on increasing EU funding for capitals and improving coordination of civil protection plans.

On October 21-22, Tallinn's Deputy Mayor Viljar Jaamu participated in the European Mayors’ Summit held in Strasbourg. The summit brought together European city leaders to share their vision with newly elected Members of the European Parliament and discuss the future priorities of the European Union. The key focus was on the role of cities in shaping EU policy and their contribution to achieving climate objectives.
