The ICG Tallinn 2025 opening ceremony, held on 4 August at Kalev Stadium, is now available to watch on YouTube.

At today’s meeting, the Tallinn City Government appointed new district governors for Kesklinn and Pirita. Starting from August 20th, Ahti Kallikorm will lead the Kesklinn district, and Ivan Lavrentjev will head the Pirita district.

The Tallinn Transport Department has expanded the parking areas for shared e-scooters, light mopeds and bicycles to Telliskivi and the Balti jaam area, as well as to the Kompassi, Raua and Kadriorg districts. Today, the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) launches the international video series “Travel Redefined: Tourism for People and Planet.” The series, filmed across six continents, features more than 20 organisations and destinations. Representing Estonia is Tallinn’s tourism brand Visit Tallinn. The Tallinn stories focus on conference tourism and explain how even very large events can be organised in an environmentally conscious way, leaving behind a positive impact.

Next weekend, 23–24 August, the international triathlon IRONMAN Tallinn 2025 will cause temporary traffic restrictions and changes in both Tallinn and Harju County. In Tallinn, these changes will mainly affect Haabersti and Põhja-Tallinn districts, with parking and traffic restrictions as well as adjustments to public transport timetables.

This Wednesday, Tallinn will celebrate Estonia’s Restoration of Independence Day with its annual concert at Harjumägi, August 20th Square. The concert will feature performances by Anett and Valter Soosalu, accompanied by the Tallinn Police Orchestra under the direction of Riivo Jõgi. The mayor of Tallinn, Jevgeni Ossinovski, will also greet fellow citizens on the occasion.
