At the opening event of the Tallinn-led European Network of 19 Cities for Sustainable Development, the partner cities presented their plans on how to promote green mobility and curb car use and achieve other sustainable development goals of the UN.

Tallinn will lead the newly launched network of 19 European cities, which aims to implement the UN Sustainable Development Goals at the local level.

Financial support from the European Union as well as from the states to cities should be provided as a holictic package in order to make urban environments greener and more sustainable, said Tallinn Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart at the Annual Dialogue of EU Capital City Mayors with the European Commission.

Tallinn City Government has confirmed Lennart Sundja as Director of the Tallinn Philharmonic from 1 June.

On Friday, August 30, the Kultuuriöö (Culture Night) event, "Ääretud silmapiirid (Boundless horizons)," will transform Tallinn's urban space into a vibrant center of cultural activities. In the evening, a special concert will take place at the Viru Keskus bus terminal, and passengers on night buses departing from the Balti Jaam station will be treated to literary readings.

On 25–26 September, the international festival Cities After Dark will take place in Tallinn, bringing together the local community as well as experts and urban developers from across Europe to discuss the challenges and opportunities of nightlife and the night-time economy.
