Ehte Humanitaargümnaasiumi hoone välisvaade

Welcome to Ehte Humanitaargümnaasium

Ehte Humanitargümnaasium is an upper-secondary school that is gradually moving to Estonian-language education. Currently, we teach in both Estonian and Russian and pay special attention to language learning. Our students study Estonian, Russian, English, and French, which helps them develop good communication skills and understanding of different cultures.

Our school has about 750 students and 70 teachers. It is located in a residential area of the Estonian capital, in a green and quiet place near the Baltic Sea and a beautiful park.

We actively use digital technologies in teaching and learning and support inclusion, diversity, and innovation in education. In addition to regular lessons, the school offers many extracurricular activities and international projects that help students and teachers improve their digital and social skills.

Our students are curious, enthusiastic, and motivated to study. They enjoy using technology in class, which makes learning more interesting and effective. They also do research projects, take part in cultural and theatre events, and join European programmes such as Juvenes TranslatoresEuroscolaErasmus+, and eTwinning. Through these projects, they share Estonian traditions, explore our nature and climate, and discuss topics like tolerance and friendship. These experiences also help them practice foreign languages and learn more about life in other countries.

The school’s strengths include a competent and motivated management team that aims to develop the school as a modern European learning community. Our teachers are open to new ideas, eager to learn, and ready to use new teaching methods and digital tools in their lessons.

We aim to educate students to become independent, responsible, ethical and active citizens who value themselves, others and the Estonian state.

Our school is built on democratic values – everyone has a voice, mutual respect, and the right to express ideas to help improve our school community.

We value a safe, supportive and friendly learning environment, where students, teachers and families work together and feel welcome.

We encourage creativity, initiative and self-management: our learners and teachers are open-minded, flexible and solution-oriented.

Cooperation is central to our school culture – we listen, support and learn together, knowing that everyone contributes to our shared goals.

As a Green School, we follow sustainable principles: responsible consumption, recycling, waste reduction, resource-saving habits, and care for nature and biodiversity.
