The Tallinn Education Department is inviting nominations for the annual youth work recognition contest “Great Deeds,” now in its 20th year. Nominations can be submitted from November 19 to January 10, 2025.
This summer, from July 11 to 14, Tallinn has the honor of hosting the world's largest sailing training ship regatta, the Tall Ships Races. To facilitate the organization of this summer's biggest event, the city invites all individuals aged 16 and older to apply as volunteers for the maritime festival.
Today, the Kopli Volunteer Rescue Squad begins operations, offering basic rescue capabilities. This includes a 24/7 smoke diving rescue team capable of responding within 60 seconds, equivalent to the response time of professional firefighters.
The City of Tallinn, in collaboration with partners, aims to establish a non-profit organization that will coordinate the activities of the Kopli volunteer fire brigade. The goal is to support the fulfillment of duties assigned to the fire department in the city, especially in Põhja-Tallinn. If the City Council supports the plan, the volunteer fire brigade will begin operations as early as April.
