Tallinn’s Urban Planning Department has significantly increased the speed and efficiency of planning procedures in the first half of 2025. As of mid-year, decisions have been made on a total of 44 detailed plans — the same number as in the entire year of 2023 and 20 more than during the same period in 2024.

Tallinn City Government has adopted the detailed plan for the Krulli quarter, giving the green light for the redevelopment of the historic Franz Krull machine factory site in Põhja-Tallinn. The Tallinn City Government has submitted the detailed plan for the Erika 12 property and its surrounding area in Põhja-Tallinn to the City Council for approval. The Tallinn City Property Department has launched a design competition for the Päikene and Pääsupesa kindergartens in the Põhja-Tallinn district to find environmentally sustainable solutions that would allow for the flexible adaptation of factory-made wooden modules to the kindergarten's needs. The deadline for submission of tenders is 11 October at 10 am.
