Today, the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) launches the international video series “Travel Redefined: Tourism for People and Planet.” The series, filmed across six continents, features more than 20 organisations and destinations. Representing Estonia is Tallinn’s tourism brand Visit Tallinn. The Tallinn stories focus on conference tourism and explain how even very large events can be organised in an environmentally conscious way, leaving behind a positive impact.

At today’s meeting, the Tallinn City Government appointed new district governors for Kesklinn and Pirita. Starting from August 20th, Ahti Kallikorm will lead the Kesklinn district, and Ivan Lavrentjev will head the Pirita district.

On Wednesday, 27 August, Mustamäe Männi Park will transform into a real Olympic village, where everyone can find an activity they enjoy. Tallinn invites everyone to welcome the New Year at Freedom Square, where the celebration will feature a concert with performances by ensemble LAINE, folk-infused beats of Trad.Attack!, rapper nublu and an innovative light show titled “New Beginning.” Due to the concert, there will be traffic closures in the area and rerouted public transport lines to accommodate the festivities.

This week, the Sail Training International confirmed the new dates and six host ports of the international sailing regatta The Tall Ships Races 2024, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic this year.
