The heavy snowfall which has lasted during the entire day has brought almost 80% of street maintenance equipment to the streets.

The City Government has sent a draft decree to the City Council, which aims to change the fees of Tallinn's public transport from 1 May 2023. Public transport will continue to be free of charge for all residents of Tallinn, the change only concerns hourly fares, short-term season tickets for residents of other municipalities and foreigners, and Aegna ferry tickets.

According to the draft budget for Tallinn 2023, the priorities in the field of transport are the development and modernization of the public transport network and improving environmental approaches of public transport in the capital. It will also ensure that public transport continues to be free of charge for the residents of Tallinn.

On Saturday, 14 January, Tallinn Zoo will once again host a free day for all children and young people up to 19 years old. The free visits take place on the second Saturday of every month until April.

Tallinn's skating rinks, which opened in mid-November, have already been visited more than 52 000 times. The whole population is welcome to enjoy the winter fun - the capital's schools can continue to organize free exercise classes on the ice rinks, and there are also free facilities for senior citizens.

This year, Tallinn will continue to support the cultivation of edible, culinary and ornamental plants in the urban environment - the call for applications for non-profit support in the field of urban gardening is open until 1 February and the call for applications for educational gardens until 15 February.

Residents should update their residence data in the Population Register before 3 February in order to participate in the Parliament elections in Tallinn.

From 7 March, construction works will start for the first phase of the Vanasadama tramline, causing changes in the traffic regulation in the city center. The construction will begin on Gonsiori and Laikmaa streets, which will lead to the closure of Gonsiori street in the direction out of the city center between Laikmaa and Reimani streets and Laikmaa street between Gonsiori and Narva mnt towards Narva mnt.

On Monday, 20 February, at 10 am traffic regulations will change on Pronksi street. On Pronksi and Jõe streets one lane will be opened on both streets in both directions.

The City of Tallinn will support live music venues in the city in the winter and spring of 2023 as part of the City of Music activities. The city has allocated a total of €72 000 to five concert venues.
