The first free Museum Sunday of 2023 will take place this Sunday, 8 January. The initiative will be joined by the Nõmme Museum, located in the former station building.
Tallinn's district governments have set up a total of 79 collection points across the city where old Christmas trees can be given away for free. Collected Christmas trees are not dumped in landfills, but are reused for district heating in the city's houses or to generate electricity.

The Tallinn City Government approved at its meeting on 18 January the regulations that will increase the allowance for private kindergartens from €200 to €264 per child per month from 1 January, and the rate of private kindergarten allowance will increase from up to €200 to €264 per month. The private nursery allowance is paid to nursery schools and the childcare allowance is paid to parents.
The City of Tallinn has signed a 21-year contract with JCDecaux Eesti OÜ for the installation and maintenance of new public bus shelters, public outdoor areas, advertising and city information screens. JCDecaux Eesti OÜ will have the right to display outdoor advertising on these buildings.

For the third time, Tallinn is organizing the Tallinn Talent music competition, which aims to highlight and support musically talented students. The twenty-two best participants will be awarded the title of the city's most talented young musician and a one-off scholarship. Registration for the competition closes on 13 February.
