Young people between the ages of 16 and 26 can buy UNESCO City of Music youth tickets for this week’s Jazzkaar concerts at significantly lower prices than usual.
In April, Tallinn allocated a total of 375 820 euros to 293 high-achieving athletes and 19,062 euros to 17 local sports projects as part of the grants for non-profit activities in the field of sports.
Tallinn will initiate a four-month-long night bus pilot project lasting from 19 May to 17 September. During this period, four routes will be active at night from Friday to Sunday.
The 41st Tallinn Old Town Days are set to take place from Friday to Sunday, 2-4 June. The streets, courtyards, parks and green spaces of the Old Town will be filled with a diverse and exciting programme. All in all, there will be over 40 concerts and more than 300 events, with this year’s theme being ‘Fresh View’.
The Tallinn City Government made a proposal to the City Council to give diplomats who reside in the capital the right to use public transport free of charge. The reason for this is that according to the new regulation coming into force on 1 July, the free parking of diplomatic missions’ vehicles in public parking spaces will be reduced.
As a result of the negotiations between the City of Tallinn and OÜ BCA Center, the terms of the management contracts of five schools will become more favourable for the city and the city will save nearly 17.6 million euros during the contract period.
A new series of outdoor training programmes lasting throughout the summer will begin on Monday, 12 June. The objective of these programmes is to offer young people aged 7-26 a way to spend time doing sporting activities during the summer and to encourage them to exercise regularly. Participation in the summer training is free for young people from Tallinn.
Construction works on the district cooling network will be taking place on the Tartu maantee and Liivalaia street intersection from Sunday, 11 June to 30 June. Portable bridges ensure the intersection will remain open during construction works, however, one of the two left turn lanes heading onto Liivalaia street will be temporarily closed.
