The Vanasadam (Old City Harbour) tramway was officially opened today, with regular tram services set to begin on Sunday, December 1.

As of today, December 1, tram line 2 begins operating through Vanasadam (Old City Harbour). The tram currently runs on the route Kopli–Vanasadam–Suur-Paala but will extend to the airport once the Ülemiste Rail Baltic terminal is completed.

On Monday, October 21, the second phase of updates to Tallinn’s public transport network will take effect, aiming to improve connections between city districts and provide more convenient transfer options. In total, 15 bus lines will be affected by the changes.

In 2024, Tallinn made significant strides in public transport with strategic decisions such as a complete renewal of the trolleybus fleet with battery-powered trolleys and signing a 10-year contract with Tallinna Linnatransport AS to ensure the long-term stability and development of the city’s public transport system. This year also saw the completion of the second phase of the public transport network modernization and the redirection of tram line no. 2 through the Old City Harbour.

The Tallinn Entrepreneurship Awards competition recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs and initiatives that contribute to the city's development. Applications are open until Tuesday, September 10.

Due to construction works on Valukoja Street in Ülemiste City, several bus lines will be rerouted.

The construction of the Old City Harbour tramway along Põhja puiestee near Linnahall is set to disrupt tram services to Kopli from May 3 until mid-August. During the first weekend of May, tram lines No. 1, 2, and 5 will be out of service. From May 6, a temporary tram line No. 1 will operate between Kopli and Linnahall stops.

This upcoming weekend, from the evening of May 3 at 8 PM until the end of Sunday, May 5, tram lines 1, 2, and 5 will not be operating. During this time, shuttle bus line 52 will replace these tram routes between Kopli and Mere puiestee.

Due to the Old City Harbour tramway construction on Põhja puiestee near Linnahall, tram services to Kopli will be reorganized until mid-August. Trams No. 2 and 5 will not be in operation, and a temporary tram line No. 1 will serve passengers between the Kopli and Linnahall stops during this period.

Sporting events will temporarily alter bus traffic in the Ülemiste area this weekend. The Ülemiste Night Run will affect bus traffic on Friday and Saturday evening, while the 14th Tallinn Public Ride will impact bus routes on Sunday.
