Tallinn has once again dispatched humanitarian aid to Ukraine, sending five fully-equipped ambulances and medical equipment from the Tallinn Ambulance Service.

The Tallinn Migration Centre will begin operations at its new location, Endla Street 8. The centre, previously located at Niine Street 2, will be closed on October 1 and 2 due to the move, and starting Thursday, October 3, it will welcome clients at the new address.

The Tallinn City Government decided today to rename a section of the pedestrian and cycling path in the Lasnamäe district’s Kuristiku and Mustakivi neighborhoods, previously known as Moskva puiestee. Since this section is a logical extension of Saaremaa puiestee and runs along the same straight line, the entire stretch will now be named Saaremaa puiestee.

The City of Tallinn has launched a public landscape architecture competition aimed at finding the best spatial design for the Ukraine Garden (Ukraina aed), located in Lembitu Park. The competition site covers the entirety of Lembitu Park, a formerly built-up city center block destroyed during the March bombings of 1944.

Yesterday, a humanitarian aid shipment was sent from Tallinn to Ukraine, containing nearly 300 laptops, desktop computers, monitors, and accessories that were previously used in Tallinn city institutions and refurbished by the city’s digital services department.

On December 11–12, a delegation from the Vinnytsya (Ukraine) City Administration visited Tallinn to learn about the city’s experiences in sustainability management and circular economy development. The study visit was part of a 2024 collaboration project in which Tallinn advised four municipalities on sustainability management.

Tallinn’s year as the European Capital of Sport in 2025 brings a sports program offering residents the opportunity to explore various sports throughout the year. January is dedicated to skiing, and on January 18, the Song Festival Grounds will host a skiing day, followed by the festive opening of the sports year.

In 2024, 2,370 marriages were registered at the Tallinn Vital Statistics Department, with the oldest groom aged 76 and the oldest bride aged 78. The most popular months for weddings were July and August, with over 300 marriages each month.

The landscape architecture competition organized by the City of Tallinn to find the best spatial solution for the Ukraine Garden in Lembitu Park has been won by the architecture firm Eek & Mutso with their design “Red Lines”. The winning team consists of Margit Mutso, Inke-Brett Eek, Noa Smolin, Oleksandr Nenenenko, and Madis Eek.

Tallinn Mayor Jevgeni Ossinovski stated at today’s meeting with Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya that Tallinn supports those who stand for human rights and the rule of law, as Estonians know well how precious freedom is.
