From 4–7 August, Tallinn will host the 57th International Children’s Games (ICG) – the world’s largest multi-sport event for 12–15-year-olds, officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee. The competition brings together city delegations from across the globe.

Next weekend, 23–24 August, the international triathlon IRONMAN Tallinn 2025 will cause temporary traffic restrictions and changes in both Tallinn and Harju County. In Tallinn, these changes will mainly affect Haabersti and Põhja-Tallinn districts, with parking and traffic restrictions as well as adjustments to public transport timetables.

To ensure a safer nightlife, Tallinn is supporting the efforts of NGO Ööhaldjad (Night Fairies), a group of harm reduction specialists, increasing their capacity to assist those in need.

This week, Tallinn’s Deputy Mayor Kaarel Oja presented the Tallinn City Museum’s development plan to the City Government, which includes the next major cultural investment of the city: the creation of Open Collections.

From June 13 to August 30, Tallinn is opening 38 school stadiums and four sports fields for free public use. Sports equipment boxes, containing items like balls, will be available for borrowing on-site.

The 2025 city budget prioritizes promoting active lifestyles among Tallinners and developing sports infrastructure, with a total allocation of €36.4 million for operating and investment costs in the sports and physical activity sector.

Among Tallinn’s most significant investments in the 2025 city budget is the completion of the Tallinn City Theatre complex on Lai Street. At the same time, work will begin on designing the city's next major cultural project—the Tallinn Open Collections Facility. A total of €56.5 million has been allocated for operating expenses and investments in the cultural sector.

Today, November 28, an extraordinary sight greeted visitors at Freedom Square as two bookmobiles appeared side by side. Tallinn Central Library, now rebranded as Tallinna Raamatukogud (Tallinn Libraries), officially retired its beloved bookmobile, Katariina Jee, after nearly 17 years of service. At the same event, the library introduced its modern successor bearing the same name, which will continue to deliver mobile library services to the city’s residents.

The first phase of renovation works has been completed at the historic House of the Blackheads, managed by the Tallinn Philharmonic Society. The building now boasts upgraded technical systems and modern automation. A ceremony was held on November 28 to honor those who contributed to the renovations.
