Furniturecluster of South-East Estonia

Furniturecluster of South-East Estonia is an open organisation, uniting wood processing companies and furniture producers in South-East Estonia. Main objectives of the cluster are: to raise the export potential and added value of the companies in region; to enhance product development; to promote cooperation between companies and R&D institutions.

Tallinn wants to give diplomats the right to use public transport free of charge

The Tallinn City Government made a proposal to the City Council to give diplomats who reside in the capital the right to use public transport free of charge. The reason for this is that according to the new regulation coming into force on 1 July, the free parking of diplomatic missions’ vehicles in public parking spaces will be reduced.

Tallinn to continue improving school learning environments

In the coming 2023/2024 school year, Tallinn will continue paying significant attention to improving learning environments in schools and hobby schools. In September, a new building will be opened for the Mustamäe Hobby School. A total of ten more learning facilities are also in the construction or planning phase. Hiiu School, which starts operating on 1 September, will soon join the present network of schools.

Nearly 2400 marriages registered last year at Tallinn's Vital Statistics Department

Last year, the Tallinn Vital Statistics Department registered 2384 marriages, with the oldest groom being 87 and the oldest bride 79 years old. The most popular months for weddings were July and August, during which over 600 marriages were solemnized. A total of 3609 births were registered, including 48 sets of twins and one set of quadruplets.
