Tallinn City Centre administration announced a contest for the spruces and firs to become the representative Christmas tree installed on the Town Hall Square Christmas market.
In anticipation of Advent, Tallinn will be decorated with fairytale-like winter lights - Christmas decorations and various lighting solutions will be installed in the Old Town and all over the city. People are invited to visit the Christmas Market, enjoy ice skating in various ice rinks and take part in several events.
On November 15, at 12 noon, the city of Tallinn, in cooperation with a private medical service provider, will open four additional COVID-19 advising and vaccination points in Haabersti, Lasnamäe and Kristiine. On Wednesday, November 17, a service point will also be established in the Tallinn Baltic Station.
The city of Tallinn, in cooperation with Confido, opened a stationary Covid-19 advising, vaccination and testing point on Vabaduse Square, that can be visited without prior booking every day from 9 am to 9 pm.
Europe Day, 9 May, is also Mother's Day this year, and on this occasion, Freedom Square in Tallinn will be covered with a carpet of flowers in the colours of the European Union and Estonian flags.
Relying on the position of the European Commission, Tallinn City Government will shortly launch an action plan on how to proceed with the renovation of the Tallinn Linnahall and its surroundings. The European Commission found in its preliminary state aid assessment that there to be no conflicts between making investments according to the Linnahall business plan and the rules on state aid.
Despite the fact that The Tall Ships Races 2021 will be postponed to 2024, the city will be holding a grandiose maritime festival and several other traditional summer events.
On the occasion of Child Protection Day, June 1st, the City of Tallinn will make a symbolic gift for children, providing free admission for children up to 19 years of age (incl.) to the Tallinn City Museum and its branches, as well as the Tallinn Zoo and Botanical Garden.
