The City of Tallinn is providing €68,480 to 14 ventures as part of this year’s last round of grants for cultural non-profit activities.

Compared to 2021, separating all waste by type has become a bit more popular. Of the types of waste, 75% of Tallinn residents collect paper and cardboard, plastic containers, glass containers, hazardous waste and electric and electronic waste separately. 87% of the residents of Tallinn collect paper and cardboard separately.

The City of Tallinn is continuing with the preparations for the Tallinn Hospital project based on the current refinancing agreement between Estonia and the European Commission and the schedule set by the agreement.

The Tallinn City Administration approved the decision to start the 2024 participatory budget process during today's session. From 18 September to 8 October, all Tallinn residents have the opportunity to submit ideas regarding projects that should be undertaken in the city's urban space over the next five years.

Tram line 5 will resume service in Tallinn on November 1, operating along the Kopli-Vana-Lõuna route for the first time since 2004. Temporary tram line number 6, which was established due to the construction work in the city center, will continue to operate until October 31.

Night buses will continue to operate in Tallinn until at least the end of the year. Starting from November 1, departure days and times will be adjusted based on when the service has the most users.

During the weekends of October 21-22 and October 28-29, Tallinn residents can dispose of hazardous waste and reusable items at local collection events.

In October, as part of the URBACT program, representatives of the Cities After Dark network from Braga visited Tallinn to meet with representatives of the city's nightlife sector and discuss future cooperation.

Since March, Tallinn has offered free legal advice to residents in every district. The last consultation days for this year will be held on Thursday, October 26 from 9 am to 5 pm at the Tallinna Kesklinna Sotsiaalkeskus (Social Center in Kesklinn) and on Tuesday, November 14 from 9 am to 5 pm at the Pirita District Administration.

This week, the ACES of Europe Validation Committee got to know the opportunities for sports and the organisation of sports in Tallinn – the prerequisites for the title of European Capital of Sport 2025 are created by local and national sport events taking place here in addition to the infrastructure supporting sports. The winner will be declared this November.
