Starting from 1 August, several bus line numbers and routes will be changed – the changes will affect lines number 8, 17, 17A, 35, 42, 43, 48, 67 and 68.

The City of Tallinn will be organising an entrepreneurship contest for the 20th time this fall, which aims to highlight local entrepreneurs and promoters of entrepreneurship. Participants can choose from seven categories: the year’s best property development project promoting entrepreneurship or tourism, joint project between companies, emerging company, tourism project, job creator, ecological innovation and future solution.

Next weekend, on 5 and 6 August, the international triathlon competition IRONMAN Tallinn 2023 will take place, leading to temporary traffic restrictions and changes in traffic in Tallinn and Harjumaa. The reconstruction works on Vana-Kalamaja Street in Põhja-Tallinn are approaching completion. The renovated street will be opened during a street festival, which takes place from 1-3 September. The regular route of bus line number 3 will resume on 1 September and the street will reopen to car traffic on the evening of 3 September.

Tallinn families with two or more children who go to kindergarten can apply for a place fee exemption. The exemption can be awarded if a parent and their children have registered residency in Tallinn and a parent has made an application.

Tallinn has 58 municipal general education schools as of the 2023/24 school year. 48,700 students will start in these schools in September. More than 3860 of them will enter the first grade. The city offers an allowance at the beginning of the school year for students under the age of 19.

During the free bulky waste disposal week on 21-27 August, seven times more bulky waste was brought to waste stations than on an average August week.

A week ago, the official beach season ended at five public beaches in Tallinn, and 38 G4S beach guards, who ensured safety and order during the summer, also finished their work. This year’s season passed calmly and without major problems.
