Tallinn aims to create a continuous, almost nine-kilometer-long park area on the limestone strip in Lasnamäe.

August 20 marks the 30th anniversary of the Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Estonia. The anniversary events in Tallinn will start today at the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds (Lauluväljak), where a new visitor centre is opened. On August 19-21, there will be several concerts and events taking place all over the city.

City of Tallinn with Tehnopol Science Park invite businesses to submit ideas to the innovation competition Tallinnovation. Proposals for creating new smart city solutions or improving existing ones can be submitted until August 23.

From today, 3 September to 1 October, all Tallinners will be able to submit proposals on which projects could be funded from the city's participatory budget in 2022.

From this autumn, Tallinn will start paying the one-time allowance 320 euros for children going to the first grade in one instalment. So far, the benefit has been paid in two parts. Parents can start applying for the benefit from 13 September.

As of this month, a new express bus line No. 64 is on route, riding from Väike-Õismäe to the Ülemiste City business campus through Mustamäe district.

The City Government adopted a package of support measures, which includes both crisis help for residents and benefits for economic operators from the beginning of September to the end of the year. The city will continue to compensate the first day of sick leave to residents of Tallinn. Also, rent exemption to entrepreneurs operating in the city's premises will be extended until the end of the year.

On Saturday and Sunday, 4-5 September, Tallinn celebrates the beginning of the Green Mobility Month and holds an event “Green Journey in the Heart of the City”, which will take place on Estonia puiestee and Tammsaare Park to raise awareness about green mobility and encourage sustainable means of transport.

The Tallinn City Government adopted a draft regulation with the aim to release families with two or more children attending kindergarten from the tuition fee. Under the same conditions, support will also be provided to parents of children attending private kindergartens or using childcare services.
