The Tallinn City Government approved a regulation today to raise the minimum salaries of youth workers in the city’s youth centers and youth work institutions, effective January 1, 2025.

In 2025, the City of Tallinn will implement a dedicated development cooperation program for Ukrainian cities for the first time. The program includes both humanitarian aid and specific cooperation projects aimed at assisting Ukrainian municipalities in preparing for European Union membership and addressing key areas such as waste management.

On January 24, Tallinn Mayor Jevgeni Ossinovski participated in the 14th EU Capitals Mayors and European Commission Summit in Warsaw. The meeting focused on increasing EU funding for capitals and improving coordination of civil protection plans.

The City of Tallinn continues to support the practical training of law students this year, enabling the Estonian Lawyers' Union Student Legal Aid Office to provide free legal advice to residents of the city.

Surveys conducted among conference organizers and delegates, commissioned by the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency (EIS), revealed that international conference visitors spend an average of €1,127 per trip in Tallinn. In total, an estimated €42 million was generated for the city.

The Tallinn City Government has submitted a draft regulation to the City Council, proposing a reduction in municipal kindergarten fees starting from April 1, 2025.

Tallinn is planning to build a new Pelguranna tram line to create a faster and more convenient connection between Põhja-Tallinn and the city center. From March 4 to 25, all interested parties can share their opinions on the project’s planning conditions via the Pelguranna tram website. These conditions will define the key requirements and guidelines for the construction of the tramway.

On March 9, 81 years will have passed since the Soviet Air Force's air raid on Tallinn. In October, the Tallinn City Council declared this anniversary a city-wide day of remembrance.

The City of Tallinn will once again offer free legal counselling to residents in 2025, with consultation days scheduled in each city district. The next counselling sessions will take place on 19 March from 9:00–13:00 at the Põhja-Tallinn District Government and on 21 March from 9:00–13:00 at the City Centre Social Centre.

The Tallinn City Government has approved changes that will increase childbirth allowances, income-based support rates, and the upper limit for general care service fees.
