Until April 7, applications can be submitted to the Tallinn Urban Planning Department for grants to support the restoration of monuments, buildings in conservation or heritage protection areas, or single objects of environmental value.

As a UNESCO City of Music, Tallinn pays special attention to music events that that add vibrancy to the city's cultural lineup. For the first round of music project grants in 2024, the city will allocate a total of €154,070 to support 32 initiatives. A record number of 90 projects were submitted for this funding round.

The City of Tallinn, as part of its 2020-2030 education strategy, aims to modernize the entire network of schools and kindergartens by 2030. This year, the city is investing over 38 million euros in the renovation of kindergartens.

Today, the Tallinn City Government appointed the district governors for Kristiine and Nõmme. Starting May 2, Renata Lukk will lead Kristiine, while Karmo Kuri, who also served in this role during the previous administration, will continue as the governor of Nõmme. These environmental education tours provide practical advice on sorting waste and demonstrate how old items can be repurposed.

Beginning September 14, 2024, Tallinn residents will be able to use municipal school stadiums and sports fields free of charge on weekends and during school holidays, throughout the entire year. During the weekdays, these stadiums will be reserved for school activities.

Musical ensembles from Tallinn, a UNESCO City of Music, will perform three concerts in Tartu, the European Capital of Culture 2024. The Tallinn Chamber Orchestra will perform in Tartu on May 26, and the Tallinn Police Orchestra will perform in Räpina on May 23 and in Võru on October 6.

This spring, Tallinn allocated a total of just over 400,000 euros in restoration grants to 36 applicants. The maximum grant amount was 35,000 euros, awarded to two projects.
