On Monday, 19 June, the youth-oriented summer of festivals will officially begin at Inglirand. Five youth festivals will be taking place throughout the summer.

During the past school year, an environmental education programme had been carried out in Tallinn nurseries and schools encouraging children to reuse and recycle things and to develop the habit of sorting waste by type.

Tallinn Deputy Mayor Tiit Terik participated in a digital assembly of mayors as part of the world cities summit held in Brussels. The Tallinn Strategic Management Office in collaboration with Filaret OÜ has installed 80 special rubbish bins at seaside areas to prevent cigarette butts from ending up in the sea, while simultaneously collecting valuable material for recycling.

In addition to the already existing payment methods, Tallinn public transport passengers can now pay for their ticket with Apple Pay Express. This allows users of Apple devices to purchase a ticket without having to activate or authenticate their device each time. Express Mode works even if your device runs out of battery.

Pronksi Street reconstruction works continue in Tallinn City Centre; however, starting today, the Pronksi–Raua and Pronksi–Gonsiori intersections are open to traffic.

Tallinn suspended mowing in city parks and green areas at the beginning of June to account for the dry period; however, it is now permitted to partially mow and remove by hand common orache and any other weeds whose spread inhibits the growth of more desirable, diverse green spaces.

Tallinn City has successfully reached the end of talks with all landowners in the area for constructing a tram and pedestrian pathway connecting Vanasadama and the Rail Baltic to the Ülemiste Travel Terminal and ensuring its openness to the public.

Kursi Street and Põhja pst. intersections will be closed to traffic from 24 July to 30 September due to construction works on the Vanasadama tramway. The locations of the bus stops for bus lines 3, 66 and 73 will be relocated for the duration of the construction.

Tallinn provides a subsidy for 10–15-year-old children to help them purchase a bicycle under the “Bike to School” programme. The subsidy is granted as a one-time payment and can be up to 100 euros. It is meant for children who have received their cyclist's permits in the year of their application or in the preceding year. Additionally, children can apply for a subsidy of up to 25 euros for purchasing a bicycle helmet.
