Today, the Tallinn City Government appointed Julianna Jurtšenko as the new district governor of Lasnamäe. She will assume her duties starting October 1.

The City of Tallinn, in partnership with TrackDeep, will conduct a test of a drone detection sensor and radar system on Friday, September 20 at 12 pm near the Kultuurikatel. Residents are invited to bring their drones for flight to test the system’s capacity.

Due to the construction of a pedestrian tunnel on Paldiski road, Baltic Station will be closed for rail traffic from July 15 to 21. During this period, the starting and ending points for passenger trains will be at Lilleküla, Kitseküla, and Tallinn-Väike train stops.

The reconstruction of Lastekodu street and the construction of communication lines at the intersection of Liivalaia street, Tartu maantee, and Rävala puiestee will bring traffic changes and public transport reroutes starting July 15. Traffic controllers will assist in guiding the traffic flow.

Construction work on Tallinna Vesi’s water and sewer lines continues on Suur-Ameerika street. The project has reached a phase where previously closed sections will begin to reopen to traffic.

An additional tram line branch will be established at Tallinn Airport by early 2026, allowing trams to pass each other, tighten schedules if necessary, and potentially open an additional tram line to the airport in the future.

Due to construction work at the intersection of Tööstuse, Kopli, and Sitsi streets, the route of bus line No. 73 will be temporarily altered in both directions from July 22 to August 11. Additional stops will also be introduced.

Starting August 1st, tram lines No. 3 and 4 will resume service to the Tondi terminus.

The Tallinn City Government has presented the City Council with the first supplementary budget proposal for 2024, increasing the total city budget by 9.5 million euros. One of the priorities of the supplementary budget is the urban landscape and mobility sectors, with additional funds allocated primarily to improve the quality of winter street maintenance and to develop landscaping.

This week, the Tallinn City Government submitted a supplementary budget to the City Council for approval, which will increase the city's total budget by 9.5 million euros. The budget includes investments for renewing the public transport fleet, paving the way for tenders to purchase 10 trams, 30 gas buses, and 40 battery-operated trolleys, as well as for designing trolley infrastructure.
