On May 1 this year, Estonia marked 20 years as a member of both the European Union and NATO. In celebration, a concert titled "Our Europe. Our NATO" will take place on Europe Day, May 9, at Freedom Square in Tallinn, featuring artists such as Bedwetters, nublu, Gameboy Tetris, and Tommy Cash. The concert, running from 19:30 to 21:00, will also be broadcast on ETV and ETV+ channels.
The week of European Parliament elections has begun today. Advance and electronic voting will take place from June 3 to June 8, with Election Day on Sunday, June 9.
From July 11 to 14, Tallinn will host the world’s largest sailing training regatta, Tall Ships Races, at Lennusadam, Noblessner Harbour, and the Old City Harbour cruise area. Over the course of four days, the harbors will be filled with a festive atmosphere – visitors can explore sailing ships, enjoy performances by Estonia’s top artists, and participate in activities both on land and at sea.
Residents are reminded to update their residence data in the Population Register before 3 February in order to participate in the Parliament (Riigkogu) elections in your hometown.
In Tallinn, a total of nearly a thousand people are helping to organize the Parliamentary elections by organizing voting at polling stations and supporting the organization of elections in shopping centers and schools.
The election week lasts from 27 February until 5 March. All voters are invited to cast their vote for the candidate of their choice either electronically or at a polling station. Exceptionally, a ballot box can also be delivered to your home.
Residents of Tallinn who are unable to vote electronically or at a polling station due to ill health or other valid reasons can order a ballot box to their place of residence from the City District Government.
Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart and minister Jaan Tammsalu will light the first Advent candle on Sunday, 27 November at 4pm on the Christmas tree in Town Hall Square.
