The draft planning conditions for the reconstruction of Liivalaia Street and the construction of a tramway are open for public review from September 24 to October 7.

The City of Tallinn is offering residents free legal consultations on designated legal advice days scheduled across various districts. The next consultation days will be on October 3 from 2 pm to 6 pm at the Pirita District Administration and on October 31 from 9 am to 2 pm at the Nõmme District Administration.

Starting November 1, 2024, a new water service price will apply in the service areas of Tallinna Vesi, including Tallinn, Saue, and Maardu. The price adjustment averages around one cent per cubic meter, excluding VAT.

Starting today, 22 April, property owners in Tallinn can begin submitting applications for compensation related to the 2025 land tax increase. The first to be processed will be applications from those whose land tax is up to €100 and who have already paid the full amount. Those whose land tax exceeds €100 — with the second installment due on 1 October — have time to apply, as their applications will be processed starting from 2 October.

The City of Tallinn has submitted its application to become a Zero Waste Candidate City under the Mission Zero Academy (MiZA) certification scheme, makingi it the first Estonian city to join the programme.

Organisational changes made in the Tallinn Urban Planning Department over the past two years have significantly accelerated planning procedures. AS Tallinna Linnatransport (TLT) operated more than 600 public transport vehicles in 2024, covering nearly 36 million kilometers and serving approximately 130 million passengers. On average, there were 355,000 trips per day by buses, trams, and trolleybuses.

Tourism in Tallinn grew by 7% last year, reaching 3.18 million international visits. Overnight stays in the city’s accommodation establishments totaled 3.31 million, marking the highest figure on record. More visitors are choosing to stay longer in Tallinn—nearly 60% of foreign guests opted to stay overnight. Among the top markets, the largest relative growth in overnight stays was seen in Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Asian markets.
