From 28 March, the refugee centre at Niine 2 in Tallinn will be closed at weekends and will be operating on weekdays from 8-17.

The Tallinn City Government has allocated €39 000 from its reserve fund to the Tallinn Culture and Sports Department to recognise to support athletes from Tallinn and their coaches who performed successfully at the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. Tallinn Zoo is one of the many zoos in the world that is collecting donations to help the staff and animals of Ukrainian zoos affected by war. Donations from people living in Estonia will be passed on in full to Ukrainian aquaria and zoos through European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) rescue operation. Contributions can be made throughout the crisis.

A school for children of Ukrainian war refugees opened in Tallinn on 11 April as a branch of Tallinn's Lilleküla Secondary School. On the first day, 67 pupils started studying there, with three more children joining by the end of the week.

The spring migration of toads has started and a temporary traffic restriction has been introduced on Astangu Street in Tallinn to ensure a safer migration route for amphibians. The ban on motor vehicles on the stretch from Kotermaa Street to 19/3 Astangu Street is in force from 9 pm until 6 am. The traffic restriction will remain in force until the end of the toad migration.

The City of Tallinn is inviting cyclists to take part in an international mobility survey to map their journeys between June and September. The data collected will be used to develop a platform that analyses cyclists’ mobility patterns and will empower the city to become more bicycle friendly.
