Estonia’s premier music industry event Tallinn Music Week (TMW) reveals the next wave of speakers for the Creative Impact Conference taking place within the event on 6th – 7th May.

Tallinn is a UNESCO City of Music from October 2021, and in this context the city has opened a call for applications to support music events taking place in Tallinn. In the first music grant round of the year, Tallinn awarded a total of €53,584 to 11 music projects.

The Tallinn City Government sent a supplementary budget to the City Council, which will increase the salaries of people working in the city's institutions by seven per cent from 1 March. Kindergarten and hobby school teachers will receive a 7.4% pay rise, while kindergarten assistant teachers will get a 13.3% pay rise.

The City of Tallinn is willing to support holding a WTA Tour women's tennis tournament in Tallinn in 2022-2024, organised by the World Women's Tennis Association (WTA).

Tallinn opened a refugee reception centre for Ukrainian refugees at Niine 2. The objective of the centre is to offer a one stop shop for different services, assistance and information necessary for a refugee in Estonia.

As of 1 March, the starting point and terminus of bus No 37 will change in Mustamäe, and the departure times of bus No 4 will also change.

After a year of operating, Tallinn’s COVID prevention centres are coming to an end in February and March. The points open in shopping centres will run until the end of February and the one on Vabaduse Square until the end of March. Vaccination at home will be available until the end of February.

In order to mitigate the effects of the crisis, the City Government decided to continue an 80% rent reduction for caterers, retail and service businesses and nightclub owners operating on the city's commercial property until the end of April

On the 10th January, at the EXPO 2020 Estonian Pavilion, Tallinn and Tartu organised a successful business seminar aimed at smartcity solutions and presented the best examples of collaboration between cities and entrepreneurs.

The Tallinn City Government has submitted to the City Council for approval a cooperation agreement between the City of Tallinn and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications to allow the development of the Rail Baltic Ülemiste passenger terminal to proceed.
