The deadline for submitting smart city solutions for the €100 000 Tallinnovation innovation competition is 15 September.

A week ago, Tallinn launched a call for ideas to kick-start the city's 2023 participatory budget. The deadline for submitting proposals is 2 October.

The City of Tallinn is providing €68,480 to 14 ventures as part of this year’s last round of grants for cultural non-profit activities.

A total of 415 ideas for improving city life in the coming year were submitted by Tallinn citizens to the Tallinn participatory budget call for ideas, with the highest number of proposals intended to improve the areas of youth, sports and leisure.

The city government sent the draft regulation correcting the thresholds of housing costs related to rent, electricity and heating, which have increased significantly compared to last year, to the council to be taken into account when paying subsistence benefits.

The Tallinnovation competition, which supports smart city solutions, received ten applications this year. The city of Tallinn, along with the Tehnopol Science and Business Park, chose four winners from among the ten applicants. The winners will receive 100,000 euros of investment, which is a record-breaking sum.

The city of Tallinn and AS Tallinna Vesi are signing a new administrative contract that regulates matters related to public water supply and sewage network and the provision of rainwater drainage services.

As the cold weather season is arriving, all public water taps will be closed. However, Tallinn plans to install new public water taps next season. Right now, residents can suggest locations for the new water taps.

All citizens of Tallinn will have the chance to take part in the selection of the best athlete and team in Tallinn 2022. On the website you can make your selection and vote for your favorites in the following categories: best female athlete, best male athlete, best sports team, best youth athlete and best para-athlete - voting is open until midnight of 30 November. The City of Tallinn has decided to add up to €25 for the purchase of a bicycle helmet to the "Bike to School" grant of up to €100. The application for the grant must be sent together with the application for the bicycle purchase subsidy and the invoice for the purchase of the helmet.
