Tallinn Zoo has seen a steady increase in visitors for the second year in a row. This growth can be attributed to the expanded collection, the new rainforest exhibition, and free admission days for children.

The nominees for Tallinn Entrepreneurship Awards have been selected. A total of 70 candidates were submitted in seven main categories, from which the winners will be announced on September 27th. The categories include the Best Development Project, Collaboration Project, Bright Newcomer, Tourism Achievement, Job Creator, Solution of the Future, and Eco-Innovation. Additionally, awards will be given for the best applied research projects.

Tallinn, the European Capital of Sport 2025 offers many opportunities to participate in sports and to stay active. The city is full of places where you can exercise for free.

At the Tallinn Entrepreneurship Awards gala held at the Seaplane Harbour (Lennusadam) yesterday, the awards for the Best Development Project, Collaboration Project, Bright Newcomer, Tourism Achievement, Job Creator, Solution of the Future, and Eco-Innovation of the year were announced, alongside awards for the best applied research projects.

The eighth edition of the Sports Morning last Friday brought nearly 600 amateur athletes to the capital's sports halls and winter swimming centers.

Tallinn's 2023 budget, presented to the city council by the city government, proposes a total of €32.3 million for cultural spending, the most important of which is an increase in the salaries of cultural workers. A number of major investments in cultural facilities are also planned.

Next year's budget for Tallinn's education sector includes a pay rise for school and nursery school teachers. The 2023 budget also includes increased payments for school lunches and other investments for educational establishments.

The Museum Sundays programme, which attracted nearly 60 000 visitors last year, will continue this year, but from February it will be necessary to buy a zero ticket to visit the branches of Tallinn City Museum.

On Saturday, 14 January, Tallinn Zoo will once again host a free day for all children and young people up to 19 years old. The free visits take place on the second Saturday of every month until April.

The first round of international conference grants will support nine conferences with more than €100 000. While last year was a record year for domestic tourism in the capital, outbound tourism is still recovering and has not yet reached the number of visitors in 2019.
