The City of Tallinn and Viimsi Municipality have signed a joint agreement to extend bus line no. 1, which currently runs to Viimsi center, all the way to Vimka mägi.

From March 5 to June 15, construction work will take place on Odra Street, temporarily closing the street to traffic. Bus lines no. 54 and 67 will be rerouted. Access will be maintained for local residents, pedestrians, and cyclists.

The Tallinn City Government is preparing to consolidate the management of the Tallinn Creative Hub, Salme Cultural Center, and Vene Cultural Center under a single administration. As part of this restructuring, St. Catherine’s Church—a renowned venue for cultural events—will also be integrated into the new structure. The planned merger is set to take place during the summer, between cultural seasons.

From February 11 to 14, the Cyber Command will conduct a force protection exercise in Filtri military campus in Tallinn and Jägala training center, as well as their surrounding areas. During this time, an increased presence of armed military personnel may be observed in these locations.

Saturday, January 11, is a national day of mourning to honor President Arnold Rüütel, who passed away on December 31 last year. All Tallinn city institutions will fly the Estonian flag as a mourning flag on this day.

On January 24, Tallinn Mayor Jevgeni Ossinovski participated in the 14th EU Capitals Mayors and European Commission Summit in Warsaw. The meeting focused on increasing EU funding for capitals and improving coordination of civil protection plans.

The City of Tallinn will once again offer free legal counselling to residents in 2025, with consultation days scheduled in each city district. The next counselling sessions will take place on 19 March from 9:00–13:00 at the Põhja-Tallinn District Government and on 21 March from 9:00–13:00 at the City Centre Social Centre.

On Saturday, January 11, the late President Arnold Rüütel, who passed away on December 31, will be laid to rest with a state funeral at the Estonia Theatre. Due to the funeral, temporary traffic restrictions and changes will be in effect in Tallinn on January 10 and 11. Police request drivers to follow traffic signs and instructions from officers.

Tallinn aims to enhance residents' environmental awareness and biodiversity through community initiatives and collaboration by supporting urban gardening and environmental projects. This year, a total of €458,000 will be distributed across three funding rounds.

This year, Tallinn is providing residents with free legal advice during 17 consultation days scheduled across all districts. In February, consultation days are on the 22nd, from 2 pm to 6 pm at the Nõmme District Government and on the 29th, from 9 am to 2 pm at the Haabersti District Government.
