The Tallinn Culture and Sports Department is organizing an idea contest for the development of properties at Rannamõisa tee 1 and Rannamõisa tee 3g, aiming to diversify and improve the overall environment and facilities for sports in Tallinn. The winning concept from this contest will form the basis for subsequent detailed planning and negotiations for a building rights competition.

Tallinn plans to collaborate with the private sector to construct an Olympic-sized swimming pool in Lasnamäe at the Kuukivi 3 and 5 (formerly Varraku 14a and 14b) properties. In 2019, Tondiraba Ujula OÜ, the winner of the state procurement that year, informed the city in late August that they would be unable to complete the construction of the pool within the agreed-upon time and conditions due to a substantial increase in construction costs. Since the construction project has already been made and all that is missing are the construction procurements, the city has decided to terminate the existing contract and plans to start a new procurement process.

Young athletes from Tallinn have once again been given the opportunity to apply to the Tallinn Sports School competitive athlete programme. For the first time, applications are also open to deaf and para-athletes. Applications for the next two seasons can be submitted until 19 June 2023.

Yesterday, on 4 May, the general meeting of the Estonian Security Companies Association (ETEL) took place in the environmental education centre of Tallinn Zoo, where the best of the year in the security market were recognised as well. Beaches for disabled persons that were created under the leadership of the city of Tallinn were recognised as worthy of the title "Deed of the Year 2022".
