Tallinn’s 2025 city budget lays the groundwork for expanding the tram network across districts. Inspired by other Northern European cities, street redevelopment will focus on improving quality of life and accessibility for businesses.
Today, the City of Tallinn and the Avatud Kool SA (Open School Foundation) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a new Estonian-language municipal general education school in Põhja-Tallinn. From September 23 to October 14, the draft regulation for the designation of the Astangu-Mäeküla Nature Reserve will be open for public display. The aim of the reserve is to ensure the preservation of valuable natural habitats, heritage landscapes, and cultural heritage sites, as well as to maintain a functioning green network.
From 4 April to 2 May, traffic will be closed overnight from 21:00 to 05:00 on a section of Astangu Street (between Astangu Street 1–19) in Tallinn to ensure a safe migration route for frogs heading to nearby ponds to spawn.
Starting this spring, Tallinn has appointed a nature ranger responsible for maintenance and landscape care in local conservation areas and the Paljassaare Special Conservation Area, as well as for the restoration and upkeep of species-rich meadows.
