Starting next Monday, 14 June, and lasting until the end of August, 18 school stadiums will be open to the public in Tallinn for sports.

Tallinn continues project “Fireproof homes” aimed at low-income residents in cooperation with the Rescue Board.

Construction begins on Paevälja bridge in Klindipark, allowing safer movement along Lasnamäe’s embankment for pedestrians. The Paevälja bridge is also a kind of viewing platform, from which one can enjoy a stunning view of both Tallinn Bay and the city itself.

Due to the construction of the second phase of the Vanasadama tram line, which will begin in April, changes will be made to 27 bus routes. From 4 April to 31 May 2023, buses 1, 2, 8, 9, 11, 14, 18, 18A, 20, 20A, 23, 29, 31, 34, 35, 38, 40, 44, 46, 48, 51, 55, 60, 63, 67 and 68 will be rerouted and bus 15 will change.

Tallinn creates emergency centres in every district, or institutions that are independent from outside service providers. The purpose of these centres is to provide help, advice and information during large-scale electricity or water outages, fire or other crises. While the emergency centres are mostly located in city district administration buildings that people are accustomed to visiting, the network is planned to be expanded.

During today’s meeting, the Tallinn City Government decided to partner with Tallinn University (TLU) and Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) to advance scientific and developmental activities and enhance the internship system and further education. Ongoing agreements are also being renewed with the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA), Tallinn University of Applied Sciences, AS Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences and the Estonian Business School Foundation.

During the last two weekends of October, residents of Tallinn participated in a city-organized collection drive, handing over approximately 23,930.90 kilograms of hazardous waste and 107 cubic meters of reusable items. Tallinn residents have the ongoing opportunity to dispose of their hazardous household waste at no cost at six designated collection points throughout the city and at four waste treatment plants all year round.

Tallinn's open-air ice rinks are set to open in mid-November. Mustamäe and Lasnamäe rinks will open on November 11, Nõmme and Old Town rinks on November 18. Schools can schedule free sessions on the rinks, and seniors are offered complimentary access.

The Tallinn City Government has proposed to the City Council to lease, from December 4, Hiiu Stadium, Lasnamäe Stadium, Wismari Football Stadium, and Võidujooksu Football Field to the current managing football clubs for a ten-year period.

Projects aiming to add more greenery to the city and facilities promoting active lifestyles emerged as the winners in Tallinn's 2024 participatory budget vote. One million euros have been set aside in the budget for the realization of these projects.
