This year, more than 10,000 people took part in Tallinn’s participatory budget vote, selecting the best ideas for developing their local districts.

On April 15, the 10th MELT Innovation Forum will take place at Tallinn’s Creative Hub (Kultuurikatel), focusing on business growth and exploring how Estonian companies can succeed in foreign markets. Together with top industry experts, the event will seek answers to key questions: how to start exporting, how to strengthen Estonian companies’ position in the global market, and how to build a sustainable international business.

One year after taking office in April 2024, the Tallinn City Government marks its first full year of work. Over the past year, the city has launched a number of major reforms to improve management efficiency, make public services more accessible and of higher quality, increase transparency, and invest strategically in the living environment and civil protection.

This year marks the 777th anniversary of the day Tallinn received Lübeck city rights. This important historical milestone will be celebrated for the 24th time with Tallinn Day, taking place from 12–18 May. A full week of events and activities awaits all residents and visitors.

On Monday, October 21, the second phase of updates to Tallinn’s public transport network will take effect, aiming to improve connections between city districts and provide more convenient transfer options. In total, 15 bus lines will be affected by the changes.

In the coming 2023/2024 school year, Tallinn will continue paying significant attention to improving learning environments in schools and hobby schools. In September, a new building will be opened for the Mustamäe Hobby School. A total of ten more learning facilities are also in the construction or planning phase. Hiiu School, which starts operating on 1 September, will soon join the present network of schools.

At the weekend Santa Claus Ardi will meet the children in Löwenruh park.

Starting this week, the routes of all existing Tallinn night bus routes (Mustamäe, Väike-Õismäe, Pelguranna and Priisle) will change slightly, and two new routes (Vana-Pääsküla and Viimsi) will be added.

The Tallinn Environment and Communal Board is building sidewalks in 30 places across the city, where until now there were self-made paths or paved roads, which are now in poor condition.

This Saturday, May 25, the traditional Kristiine spring fair and Venice carnival will take place in Löwenruh Park (Mustamäe 59a).
