Tallinn’s Mahtra Basic School will become the first municipal school in the city to offer a class based on the principles of the Montessori method of education.

The cities of Tallinn and Valencia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership focused on urban innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer. This marks Tallinn’s second initiative of this kind, following the agreement signed with Heidelberg earlier this May.

The Tallinn City Enterprise Service and the Department of Science Cooperation at the City of Heidelberg have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to initiate cooperation between the two cities in the fields of business development and innovation. The aim of the partnership is to foster the exchange of knowledge related to sustainable urban development, with a particular focus on technology-based solutions and digitalisation.

The City of Tallinn has adopted the strategy document “International Tallinn 2035”, aimed at strengthening the city’s international position, fostering strategic partnerships, and improving crisis preparedness. Cooperation with capitals in the Baltic Sea region on civil protection and resilience is one of the strategy’s key focus areas.

From 6–9 May, Tallinn is hosting an international delegation of city leaders from Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. The aim of the study visit is to learn about Tallinn’s experiences in green transition, circular economy, and urban innovation.

Through the Test in Tallinn programme, the city offers companies the opportunity to test their innovative smart city products and services in a real urban environment. In the most recent application round, three new projects were selected for piloting.
