Cleantech Estonia organises 4 trainings for startups for “raising awareness about sexual harassment and gender violence at the workplace” on February 2022.

On 1 February, starting at 18:00, there will be Chinese New Year celebrations at Tallinn Town Hall Square and Rotermann Square, with performances by musicians, dancers and fire artists, as well as a virtual programme. From 12 noon, townspeople can witness the crafting of a tiger sculpture on Town Hall Square.

The year 2022 will bring close to ninety high-level international competitions to Tallinn, including twenty-one World and European Championships as well as World and European Cups. In total, Tallinn will support hosting international sports events with more than €865,000 this year.

A challenging year 2020 has put Estonians and Latvians invented – more than 500 ideas were submitted to Prototron. On 29th of January 2021, the winners of the Autumn 2020 round were announced – a record 120,000 euros were shared between 8 teams. So far Prototron has helped 86 technological solutions bought to market and invested more than one million euros in the implementation of smart ideas.

Tallinn is aspiring to become the City of Music of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network this year. Currently, 47 cities from all over the world belong to the network of Music Cities, 19 of them from Europe.

According to a satisfaction survey conducted among city residents at the end of last year, Tallinn is a family-friendly city with a creative atmosphere, where people of different nationalities are treated well and the local people here are considered caring and trustworthy. However, the corona crisis has affected the daily livelihoods of the townspeople.

Tallinn continues to pursue for the title of European Green Capital in 2023, a total of 16 cities across Europe will apply for this year’s title.

The City of Tallinn announced this year's city scholarship competition as of March 1. The scholarship is intended for Master's and Doctoral students whose research topic contributes to the development of Tallinn. Candidate applications can be submitted until April 1.

Tallinn Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart, together with a five-member delegation, is taking part in the Eurocities conference in Espoo, Finland, from 8-10 June. Mayor Kõlvart will also attend the Eurocities executive committee meeting and annual general meeting.
