Geneva is currently hosting UNECE Urban Resilience Week, featuring the Mayor's Forum, with Deputy Mayor Tiit Terik representing Tallinn. This forum serves as a platform for city leaders to discuss critical urban development topics, including inclusivity, adaptability, and sustainability.

The 2023 United Nations Sustainable Development Summit took place on September 18-19 in New York, focusing on discussions about the action plan for achieving Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 and the current progress of its implementation. Prior to the event, discussions were held with representatives from various cities, during which Deputy Mayor Tiit Terik introduced Tallinn's Development Strategy, "Tallinn 2035," and discussed other initiatives.

The Mayor of Tallinn Mihhail Kõlvart met with the Mayor of Laval Stéphane Boyer and Tallinn shared its experience with free public transport and they discussed the topic of city planning.

From September 14th to 16th, Tallinn's parks and the historic Old Town will come alive with a mesmerizing display of lights as the "Light Walks" festival returns for the 19th time. The theme of this year's outdoor light festival is "Colors of the Dark."

Tallinn's public transportation will follow a Sunday schedule during the Christmas period. On New Year's Eve, December 31, due to a concert at Freedom Square, traffic will be closed in the area, and bus and trolley lines passing through will be rerouted. After midnight on January 1, several lines will operate extended services to ensure partygoers can return home via public transport.
