From May, Tallinn's free Museum Sundays will be joined by The Estonian Museum of Contemporary Art in Põhja-Tallinn and the Gallery of Kaja Cultural Centre in Mustamäe.

Last Sunday, more than 6,370 people visited the museums that have joined the Tallinn Museum Sunday programme.

The upcoming Sunday is International Mothers' Day and to celebrate, people can visit a series of concerts in the open air and in concert halls, as well as workshops and fairs taking place in Tallinn.

Tallinn Central Library, Tallinn City Museum and Tallinn Literary Centre are collaborating to offer the public a new, free opportunity to experience culture - borrowing museum tickets.

The City of Tallinn is awarding a total of €110 307 to 19 organisations in the second quarter of the cultural non-profit funding round. In addition, a total of €69 491 in operating grants will be awarded to 60 Song and Dance Festival groups.

All branches of Tallinn City Museum and the museums of Tallinn Literary Centre will once again open their doors for free museum visits this Sunday, 3 April. From this week, the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds Visitor Centre can also be visited free of charge on Tallinn Museum Sundays.

The Tallinn Botanical Garden and Tallinn Zoo are offering free admission to Ukrainian war refugees, who will need to show either a Tallinn smartcard with an identity document, a document proving Ukrainian citizenship or a temporary residence card.

Tallinn has set up a website to bring together information on various free cultural and leisure activities for war refugees from Ukraine.

Last Sunday, Tallinn started the tradition of Museum Sundays, with free admission to city-owned museums on the first Sunday of every month. Interest in free museum visits was higher than expected on the opening Sunday in all museums.

In the first round of grants for non-profit cultural activities of the year, the City of Tallinn will allocate €108 148 to a total of 18 projects.
