The number of families receiving subsistence benefits in Tallinn increased nearly five times in a year
In Tallinn, more than €15 million in subsistence benefits and €1.23 million in income-related benefits were paid in 2022. Twice as many people in need visited the city's soup kitchens compared to the year before last, with the majority of the new arrivals being elderly people.
Tallinn to accept applications for children entering first grade

This year the City of Tallinn offers free legal advice to residents on ten consultation days, scheduled in each city district. The first consultation day will take place this Friday, 17 March from 9 am to 6 pm at the Nõmme District Government.
2130 applications sent for children entering first grade

Due to Vanasadama tramway construction, the northern section of Ahtri Street between Paadi and Laeva streets will be closed to traffic from 10:00 on Tuesday, 9 May. The traffic changes will affect the routes of bus lines 20, 20A, 34 and 66.

Tallinn opens a sewing room in cooperation with Uuskasutuskeskus
On Monday, 8 May, the city of Tallinn will open a mending workshop (Sõpruse puiestee 255) in cooperation with MTÜ Uuskasutuskeskus and Tallinn Technical University, where city residents can bring both clothing and home textiles to be mended.

This Sunday, 7 May, the Contemporary Art Museum of Estonia will again participate in a free of charge Museum Sunday after being closed for the winter season. Due to construction works and various events, the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds Visitor Centre will not take part in the Museum Sundays until August.
