Tallinn aims to create a continuous, almost nine-kilometer-long park area on the limestone strip in Lasnamäe.

From today, 3 September to 1 October, all Tallinners will be able to submit proposals on which projects could be funded from the city's participatory budget in 2022.

From this autumn, Tallinn will start paying the one-time allowance 320 euros for children going to the first grade in one instalment. So far, the benefit has been paid in two parts. Parents can start applying for the benefit from 13 September.

The City Government adopted a package of support measures, which includes both crisis help for residents and benefits for economic operators from the beginning of September to the end of the year. The city will continue to compensate the first day of sick leave to residents of Tallinn. Also, rent exemption to entrepreneurs operating in the city's premises will be extended until the end of the year.

The Tallinn City Government adopted a draft regulation with the aim to release families with two or more children attending kindergarten from the tuition fee. For the second year in a row, Tallinn celebrates Baltic Sea Day that is held on August 26. Marine and environmental specialists as well as all townspeople are welcome to the events of the thematic day dedicated to the wellbeing of the Baltic Sea.

Today, September 9, Tallinn received a high recognition from the European Commission - the title European Green Capital 2023. The winner of the competition was announced in Lahti, Finland – the current bearer of the title.

Tallinn has dedicated the month of September to green and sustainable mobility. Also in September, from 16 to 22, the European Mobility Week is held, which focuses on the theme ‘Move Sustainably. Stay Healthy’.
