The Tallinn City Government has submitted a draft regulation to the City Council, proposing a reduction in municipal kindergarten fees starting from April 1, 2025.

From March 1 to March 15, parents in Tallinn can submit applications for their child to be assigned a municipal school based on their registered home address for first grade starting on September 1, 2025.

The Tallinn City Government and entrepreneurs from Old Town entertainment venues have signed a goodwill agreement aimed at ensuring the sustainable development of nightlife in Tallinn while protecting the right of local residents and tourists to a peaceful and safe environment. Today, 17 businesses signed the agreement.

Tallinn is planning to build a new Pelguranna tram line to create a faster and more convenient connection between Põhja-Tallinn and the city center. The Tallinn City Government has approved a set of principles for covering this autumn’s local elections, with the aim of ensuring political neutrality in the city’s communications during the election period. City district newspapers will not offer paid political advertising during the campaign period.

Today, the cornerstone will be laid for the Lasnamäe Circular Economy Center, which will provide residents with convenient opportunities to dispose of waste, repair items, and reuse them. The center supports the city's commitment to more efficient waste management and the broader goal of reducing waste and promoting the sustainable use of resources. The center is scheduled to open in 2026.

The City of Tallinn will once again offer free legal counselling to residents in 2025, with consultation days scheduled in each city district. The next counselling sessions will take place on 19 March from 9:00–13:00 at the Põhja-Tallinn District Government and on 21 March from 9:00–13:00 at the City Centre Social Centre.

Tallinn Mayor Jevgeni Ossinovski stated at today’s meeting with Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya that Tallinn supports those who stand for human rights and the rule of law, as Estonians know well how precious freedom is.
