Tallinn’s Mahtra Basic School will become the first municipal school in the city to offer a class based on the principles of the Montessori method of education.

Tallinn is continuing the restoration of Pääsküla Bog. Over ten weekends, residents are invited to help block drainage ditches in the bog to raise the groundwater level and support the return of the unique wetland ecosystem.

Starting in September, the City of Tallinn will introduce major changes to its sports funding principles for children and youth, increasing the total support volume by nearly 75 percent. The City of Tallinn has launched an architectural competition to find the best spatial solution for a new swimming centre on Varraku Street in Lasnamäe. The City of Tallinn, the Seoul Business Agency, and Startup Estonia signed a memorandum of understanding on 19 June with the aim of fostering cooperation between Estonian and South Korean startups and supporting two-way market entry.

From 1 September, City of Tallinn will introduce a new bus route, No. 8A, running between Mähe aedlinn and Viru keskus to provide Mähe and Pirita residents with an alternative connection to the city centre. The decision follows feedback on previous changes to route No. 8.
