Tallinn adopts a strategy for international cooperation
The City of Tallinn has adopted the strategy document “International Tallinn 2035”, aimed at strengthening the city’s international position, fostering strategic partnerships, and improving crisis preparedness. Cooperation with capitals in the Baltic Sea region on civil protection and resilience is one of the strategy’s key focus areas.
Buses rerouted in city centre due to water main break on 15–16 May
Due to a water main break on Laikmaa Street, the routes of bus lines no. 14, 18, 18A, 20, 20A, and 31 will be temporarily changed in the city centre from 9:00 on 15 May until 5:30 on 16 May.
Odra Street to reopen for traffic on 19 May
Construction works on Odra Street are nearing completion, and the street will be reopened to traffic starting Monday, 19 May. Bus routes 54 and 67 will also return to their normal routes.
Kadaka puiestee bridge to open to traffic on the evening of 19 May
In July last year, reconstruction began on the Kadaka puiestee bridge in Tallinn, which had reached the end of its service life and become structurally unsafe. As of Monday, the new bridge will be complete and open to traffic. Public transport will return to its regular routes in the first half of next week.
Tallinn Day to be celebrated with two major concerts and events across the city
This year marks the 777th anniversary of the day Tallinn received Lübeck city rights. This important historical milestone will be celebrated for the 24th time with Tallinn Day, taking place from 12–18 May. A full week of events and activities awaits all residents and visitors.

For the 2025/26 academic year, a total of 3,906 children have been assigned a place in the first grade of Tallinn’s municipal schools.
Tallinn launches civil protection network for Baltic capitals
Today, representatives of Tallinn, Riga, and Vilnius gathered to discuss how the capitals of the Baltic states are working to ensure the safety of their residents. The meeting concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding that lays the foundation for future cooperation between the three capitals in crisis preparedness.
Morcheeba to close Tallinn Day celebrations
This year marks 777 years since Tallinn was granted Lübeck city rights. The Tallinn Day celebrations held to mark the occasion will conclude on Friday, 16 May at 20:00, when Ines and the British electronic music band Morcheeba will give a free concert on Freedom Square.
