As part of its upcoming title year as the European Capital of Sport, Tallinn is marking World Car-Free Day on September 22 with a strong focus on sports.

The second day of the international sailing training regatta, The Tall Ships Races Tallinn, offered visitors an exciting parade of sailing trainees and ship crews, along with performances by well-known Estonian artists across all three harbors.

The evaluation committee of the Tallinn Entrepreneurship Awards competition has selected 23 ventures to continue competing for the city's entrepreneurship awards across seven main categories. The nominees include established businesses with extensive experience and large workforces, innovative technology-based enterprises, and notable development and tourism projects.

One year after taking office in April 2024, the Tallinn City Government marks its first full year of work. Starting today, 22 April, property owners in Tallinn can begin submitting applications for compensation related to the 2025 land tax increase. The first to be processed will be applications from those whose land tax is up to €100 and who have already paid the full amount. Those whose land tax exceeds €100 — with the second installment due on 1 October — have time to apply, as their applications will be processed starting from 2 October.

The City of Tallinn has submitted its application to become a Zero Waste Candidate City under the Mission Zero Academy (MiZA) certification scheme, makingi it the first Estonian city to join the programme.

Due to Estonia’s 107th Independence Day celebrations and the Defense Forces parade at Vabaduse väljak, changes to public transport routes in central Tallinn will take place on Sunday, February 23, from 19:00, and on Monday, February 24, from 8:00 to 17:00.

The Tallinn City Government is submitting a draft regulation to the City Council aimed at gradually reducing class sizes to the legally mandated 24 students per class.
