Despite the fact that The Tall Ships Races 2021 will be postponed to 2024, the city will be holding a grandiose maritime festival and several other traditional summer events.

The environmental education activities of Tallinn's educational institutions again received international recognition - one school and five kindergartens were awarded the Eco-School Green Flag label, which were presented by Deputy Mayor Kalle Klandorf this week.

The world's largest training regatta ‘The Tall Ships Races’ will not take place this year due to COVID-19 restrictions and the ongoing spread of the pandemic. The testing of self-driving buses and piloting of teleoperation driving will continue in Tallinn this summer. The City Council agreed to Tallinn's participation in an international project introducing self-driving buses operated by people from a control room who will not sit in the vehicle.

The Tallinn City Property Department has launched a design competition for the Päikene and Pääsupesa kindergartens in the Põhja-Tallinn district to find environmentally sustainable solutions that would allow for the flexible adaptation of factory-made wooden modules to the kindergarten's needs. The deadline for submission of tenders is 11 October at 10 am.

Tallinn University is the host of the XXXI Nordic Hydrological Conference on 15-18 August, this year with the theme "Hydrology and Water-related Ecosystems".
