Tallinna Kiirabi (Tallinn Emergency Medical Service) points out that with the current exceptionally hot weather, people should be very careful in the sun and drink plenty of water.

The Rescue Board, in cooperation with the Environmental Board and the Põhja-Tallinn District Government, is cleaning up the pollution of old heavy fuel oil discovered in the central part of Stroomi beach. Until the beach is inspected and cleaned up, swimming on Stroomi beach is strictly not recommended. Going into the water is at swimmers’ own risk.

From August 1, 2022, applications for "Bike to School" support can be submitted in Tallinn. A one-time subsidy of up to 100 euros is intended for the purchase of a bicycle for children aged 10–15 who have received their cyclist driving licenses this year, i.e. in 2022.

From today, 11 July, small and medium-sized live music clubs in Tallinn can apply for programming grant for the autumn winter season of 2022. All indoor concert venues that organise regular concerts and can accommodate up to 1,000 people are eligible to apply.

In March this year, Tallinn launched a free Museum Sundays initiative at city-owned museums to raise awareness of museum activities and improve access to culture. The Tallinn City Property Department has launched a design competition for the Päikene and Pääsupesa kindergartens in the Põhja-Tallinn district to find environmentally sustainable solutions that would allow for the flexible adaptation of factory-made wooden modules to the kindergarten's needs. The deadline for submission of tenders is 11 October at 10 am.

With the ongoing heatwave, it is important to remember that higher temperatures require bigger water consumption. There are dozens of public water taps in Tallinn where anyone can get clean drinking water for free.
