On Wednesday, 5 October, the mayors of the Nordic and Baltic capitals met online to discuss the education of children of Ukrainian war refugees and assistance to Ukrainian cities.

n 23 and 24 November, a delegation led by Kotka Mayor Esa Sirviö, the Chairman of the City Council Pasi Hirvonen and the Chairman of the City Board Sami Virtanen will visit the city of Kotka, Tallinn.The visit included a meeting of the mayors of Tallinn and Kotka today and a joint concert of the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and the Kymi Sinfonietta in the Estonia Concert Hall in the evening.

Tallinn's 2023 budget includes bridge funding through Tallinn Industrial Parks to start construction of the Tallinn Film Wonderland. In the area of entrepreneurship, attention will also be paid to promoting Tallinn as an attractive tourist destination, supporting small businesses and green innovation. Operational expenditure is planned to be €2.6 million.

A total of nine youth festivals will take place across Tallinn during the summer, focusing on extreme sports, street art and dance, and music. The summer of festivals kicks off on 14 May in Männi Park as part of Tallinn Day.

The upcoming Sunday is International Mothers' Day and to celebrate, people can visit a series of concerts in the open air and in concert halls, as well as workshops and fairs taking place in Tallinn.

The architectural competition for the extension of Tallinna Reaalkool – Tallinn Secondary School of Science – has been won by an Estonian architecture office Molumba with the design R². Construction is scheduled to start in 2024.

This week Tallinn hosted the European Green Capital (EGC) Troika network meeting. 14 guests from Lahti and Grenoble visited Tallinn to learn about our plans for the European Green Capital year 2023. There have been regular meetings online, but this was the first time the three cities network met in real life.

Tallinn will continue to seek private sector partners for the reconstruction and deployment of the Tallinn Linnahall, the City Concert Hall. Launching a call for tenders will be decided once the market situation improves.
