Today, 22 March, at 12 noon, the Tallinn Social Work Centre opened the exhibition "My Bear" in the service bureau of the Tallinn City Office (Vabaduse väljak 7), featuring the joint creations of the Centre's clients and staff.
The Tallinn Botanical Garden and Tallinn Zoo are offering free admission to Ukrainian war refugees, who will need to show either a Tallinn smartcard with an identity document, a document proving Ukrainian citizenship or a temporary residence card.

Tallinn Zoo is one of the many zoos in the world that is collecting donations to help the staff and animals of Ukrainian zoos affected by war. Donations from people living in Estonia will be passed on in full to Ukrainian aquaria and zoos through European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) rescue operation. Contributions can be made throughout the crisis.
In order to better match the donations of helpful citizens of Tallinn with the urgent needs of war refugees from Ukraine, Tallinn is organising a collection of everyday items in the district administrations from Thursday, 10 March.
From March, visitors will be able to visit Tallinn’s museums for free on the first Sunday of every month. The Museum Sundays with free admission is a practice common to many cities in the world.
The Tallinn City Government sent a supplementary budget to the City Council, which will increase the salaries of people working in the city's institutions by seven per cent from 1 March. Kindergarten and hobby school teachers will receive a 7.4% pay rise, while kindergarten assistant teachers will get a 13.3% pay rise.
On 1 February, starting at 18:00, there will be Chinese New Year celebrations at Tallinn Town Hall Square and Rotermann Square, with performances by musicians, dancers and fire artists, as well as a virtual programme. From 12 noon, townspeople can witness the crafting of a tiger sculpture on Town Hall Square.
