European cities seek solutions to balance regulations and innovation
From June 20-21, one of Europe’s largest technology and innovation conferences, The Next Web 2024, took place in Amsterdam. The event gathered companies, investors, and representatives from national and local governments. Tallinn increases subsidies for school meals from 1 September
Tallinn City Government has decided to increase the city's subsidy for school meals for pupils from 1 September 2022, bringing the cost of school meals to €1.56 per day. In Tallinn, school meals are free of charge for both primary and secondary school students.
Changes to traffic management ahead in Kesklinn and Põhja-Tallinn
In the first half of July, traffic arrangements will change in the areas of Rannamäe tee, Põhja puiestee and Kalasadama street in Põhja-Tallinn, and Toompuiestee in the city centre.
From today it´s possible to apply for support to buy a bicycle for a school child in Tallinn
From August 1, 2022, applications for "Bike to School" support can be submitted in Tallinn. A one-time subsidy of up to 100 euros is intended for the purchase of a bicycle for children aged 10–15 who have received their cyclist driving licenses this year, i.e. in 2022.
Tallinn pays a start-of-school allowance to all students up to the age of 19
From this year, the City of Tallinn is paying a yearly €50 allowance to all primary, secondary and vocational school pupils at the start of the new school year. This a supplement to the existing €320 allowance for Tallinn children entering the first grade.
Nearly 48 600 pupils start the school year in Tallinn schools
In Tallinn's 57 municipal schools, 48,589 pupils will start the school year, including 3,868 first-graders.
