This year, in the last round of non-profit sports grants, Tallinn will allocate just over 31,000 euros to 31 local sports projects.

Tallinn's open-air ice rinks are set to open in mid-November. Mustamäe and Lasnamäe rinks will open on November 11, Nõmme and Old Town rinks on November 18. Schools can schedule free sessions on the rinks, and seniors are offered complimentary access.

Starting from November 1, Tallinn's waste treatment plants will switch to a winter schedule. All four waste treatment plants - in Pääsküla, Rahumäe, Paljassaare, and Pärnamäe - will continue to be open seven days a week, but their opening hours will be shorter during the autumn-winter period.

The Tallinn City Government has proposed to the City Council to lease, from December 4, Hiiu Stadium, Lasnamäe Stadium, Wismari Football Stadium, and Võidujooksu Football Field to the current managing football clubs for a ten-year period.

During the last two weekends of October, residents of Tallinn participated in a city-organized collection drive, handing over approximately 23,930.90 kilograms of hazardous waste and 107 cubic meters of reusable items. In the coming 2023/2024 school year, Tallinn will continue paying significant attention to improving learning environments in schools and hobby schools. In September, a new building will be opened for the Mustamäe Hobby School. A total of ten more learning facilities are also in the construction or planning phase. Hiiu School, which starts operating on 1 September, will soon join the present network of schools.

This week, the more active phase of the exercise Ussisõnad (Parseltongue) begins in the Northern Territorial Defence District’s area of responsibility and some exercises will also be conducted in Tallinn on Thursday, September 7. It will not disturb the daily life of people in Tallinn.
