Tallinn’s Mahtra Basic School will become the first municipal school in the city to offer a class based on the principles of the Montessori method of education.

Today, on October 9, the first meeting took place between the City of Tallinn, the Tallinn Educational Personnel Union, the Tallinn School Leaders' Association, and the Tallinn Early Childhood Education Leaders' Association. The goal was to discuss ways to improve the salaries and working conditions of teachers in the capital city by 2025.

The international sail training organization Sail Training International has confirmed the host ports for the 2028 Tall Ships Races regatta. One of the selected ports is Tallinn.

The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) has released its 2024 global rankings for cities and countries in the conference industry. Tallinn has climbed to 57th place among cities worldwide, while Estonia ranks 44th among countries.

The construction of Utilitas’ wastewater and seawater heat pump plant and seawater pumping station to be built in Paljassaare began today. The emission-free plant will start supplying heat to Tallinn’s district heating network in the winter season of 2026.

Construction works on Odra Street are nearing completion, and the street will be reopened to traffic starting Monday, 19 May. Bus routes 54 and 67 will also return to their normal routes.
